Tips & Ideas
Hello Sailor
Printing your hello greeting onto the card to form waves, glue with 3D Sticky Foam Pads, a Metal Yacht.
It's A Boy Gingham
Wrap around the centre of a white card a piece of Blue 20mm Gingham Ribbon (R22-BL), over the join in the ribbon at the top of the card mount your baby greeting with 3D Foam Sticky Pads (GL1). With a triangle piece of white towelling, felt or fabric make an *old fashion* nappy and stick to the ribbon. Use a Blue Nappy Pin (EM19-BL) to finish the nappy off.
Lace Heart
Using 2 cm wide ribbon, sew a long stitch towards on end of the ribbon and gather to form a flower head. Simply place a White Heart (EM6) onto the ribbon. You could more detail to the heart by using dimensional paint or adding a bead or gem to the centre of the flowers to match the ribbon you are using.
Let It Snow!
Wrap a White Chenille Stem (MISC7-WT) twice around the edge of Painted Wooden Face (W42) and glue into place. At the start and finish point of the chenille stem (under the chin) glue a 20mm White Ribbon Bow (B1-WT) now giving a winter bonnet on your wooden head. With the white chenille stem you have left, cut in half and use a piece of each to give fur cuff details to a pair of Painted Wooden Mitten (W46) Use some 3D Foam Sticky Pads (GL1) to mount onto your card to give a raise look.
Lilac Present
Cut a 1.5” strip of pattern paper and glue off centre to your card.
Then glue, overlapping a length of 25mm Organza Ribbon that best match your pattern paper.
Towards the top of the card stick your Happy Birthday Tag with 3D Sticky Foam Pads. Onto to a Metal Parcel hang a little Metal Flower Head on a small piece of Silver Beading Wire to make a tag. Mount this finished gift onto a piece of card, and then mount onto your card.
Lily
Taking some DMC thread in the desired hair colour, plat a length to make your hair and attach to a Painted Wooden Face (W42). Mount onto some glitter card cut to 6cm x 8.5cm and give a finishing touch by gluing some 20mm Pink Satin Ribbon Bows (B1-RD) to the ends of the plats.
Little Packs Of Seeds
Great to add to gardening or flower cards. Using some brown (parcel type) paper, print very small, but clear the word Seeds and if you can add a little flower or veg under, even better. Once printed off, cut along the bottom leaving enough room for you to fold the paper, so giving a bag effect. Stick them together and either cut along the top with fancy edge scissors or gentle tear it.
Lots Of Love
'Lots Of Love' or 'Bags Of Love' topper for your cards is made by simply putting a White Lace Heart (EM6) into a small white Organza Pouch (OP1-WT) Using a Mini Heart Punch (PUN8) punch a few red hearts to use as confetti in the bag (old christmas cards are great for this!) Stick a few odd hearts to the white lace heart before popping it and the red hearts into the bag, leaving one red heart to stick onto your tag with the greeting of your choice. (Use the end of a metal ruler as a pattern for the tag) Draw the bag together cutting the drawstring a little shorter. You could use any coloured heart to suit any occasion. Finished size is just 2.5" x 3.5"
Making Waves
Printing your greetings onto the card to form waves, glue with 3D Sticky Foam Pads (GL1) a Metal Yacht (MM35) Onto which you could stick the age of the person by using the numbers from Football Peel Off Stickers (425U-BK) You could finish this by writing over the top with a silver gel pen.
Modern Christmas Tree
Fold a Green Chenille Stem (MISC7-GR) in half, create a triangle shape leaving enough to twist a truck at the base. Glue onto a piece of Bottle Green Tulle (TUL1-GR) leave to dry and trim around the edge. Finish with a few Round Rhinestones (RG15)
More Football!
Print a football design onto tracing paper or vellum, glue to the cover of your greetings card. Down one edge glue a strip of Black & White Gingham Ribbon (R21-BK) and to the centre of the card glue, using 3D Foam Pads (GL1) a Flat Backed Football (EM41) Finished with a Happy Birthday Peel-Off Sticker (408U-BK) greeting.
Musical Note!
Cover 3/4 of a blank card with a backing paper of your choice. Glue a piece of ribbon along the edge of the backing paper. Now cut two small pieces of backing paper into squares for toppers. Glue a Gold/Metal Guitar Charm onto one topper and a Gold/Metal Treble Clef onto the other topper. With 3D Sticky Foam Pads place the toppers onto the ribbon. Decorate with Happy Birthday Peel Offs.
New Baby Card
New baby card made by mounting a set of ‘It’s A Girl Metal Embellishment’ (MM31)Then punching a small hole each side of the wording and threading some ‘7mm Pink Organza Ribbon’ (R11-PK)
Padded Heart & Bead String
Winding Bead String (BDR1 or 2) around a Padded Heart (PD2) is such a quick and easy embellishment to make. Keep the bead string in place with the odd stitch or if you have a glue gun even better! Use other colours of hearts and bead string for birthday or wedding cards.
Padded Heart & Beads
Sew a few odd Pearl Beads (BD5) to a Padded Heart (PD1 or 6) this gives a great effect, you could use other coloured beads and maybe add a Fluffy Marabou Feather (F1) behind (maybe pink or lilac beads with pink or lilac feathers) Would be great for wedding invites or cards.
Pastel Oriental Flower In Pot
Using some floral oriental patterned paper, mount on black card a Mini Split Flowerpot (W1) and a Gold Metal Flower (MM1-GD)
Pearl Hearts
Cut out the heart in card to the size and shape you require using the same or a contrasting colour. Apply PVA glue and sprinkle with the Pearl Beads (BD4 or 5)
Pink Flower Vase
Lightly glue a strip of Pink Cotton Candy Fabric Paper down the centre of the card, over this glue some 25mm Pink Organza Ribbon. To a Metal Flowerpot - Vase arrange and glue a selection of Mulberry Paper Flowers and Mulberry Leaf. On the Metal Flowerpot – Vase glue three Clear 3mm Acrylic Rhinestones and mount this on your card, along with your Metal Happy Birthday Tag.
Potted Flowers
Onto a deep pink piece of card glue a slightly larger piece of Jute (MISC5). Into a Mini Split Flowerpot (W1) glue some Pink Mulberry Paper Flowers (MF19) and mount onto the Jute.
Purple Vase
Cut a piece of paper from a Pastel Papermania pack to just over half the length of the card you are using and glue into position. Across the edge of the paper glue a length of 7mm Organza Ribbon to match. To make the flowers, cut three short lengths of Silver Braid and to each glue a Silver Metal Flower Head. To the centre of the flower heads glue a 5.5mm Acrylic Rhinestone. Glue the three flowers to the back of a Metal Flowerpot – Vase and attach this to the card using Foam Sticky Pads. Finish the card by gluing some 3mm Acrylic Rhinestones to the centre of some of the flowers on the paper along with a Happy Birthday Metal Tag.
